Soliloquy 04:00
Soliloquy No conversation do we need to have It's only a soliloquy I'm only looking for a soundbite Something snappy while I stuff my face Not too deep, not too demanding Two sentences or less I'm sure would be just right Just right Dont' confuse me with the details Just give me something I already believe I don't have the concentration or the need to understand Don't have the need to hear, to think, to see No conversation do we need to have It's only a soliloquy If I can talk a little louder you won't need to be heard A simple line in the sand separating you from me Stop your yelling and concede that I'm right It's been passed down through generations No need to analyze or think it through for yourself Just give me familiarity No conversation do we need to have It's only a soliloquy If I can talk a little louder you won't need to be heard A simple line in the sand separating you from me Red state, blue state Primary colors Left state, right state What more do you need? Liberal, conservative Labels make it easy With us, against us That's how we play the game No conversation do we need to have It's only a soliloquy If I can talk a little louder you won't need to be heard A simple line in the sand separating you from me Words and Music copyright 2016 by Bill Cornish

Far Away 03:50
Far Away The heart never stops it yearning No matter how hard we try to quell the voices from deep inside The world never stops its turning, the days and years spin by Just a grain in the hourglass, faster and faster you can't deny Far away You're so far away Say goodbye to yesterday It's been years since I've seen your smile Heard your laughter ringing out Seen the world through the filter of your eyes But in my head you're still here beside me I still know what you'd say You can still make me smile, light up my day But you're faw away Far away Say goodbye to yesterday Far away You're so far away Say goodbye to yesterday There was still so much to say Well I'm missing you today Words and Music copyright 2016 by Bill Cornish

Changes 03:24
Changes Eight to five Feeling like I'm half alive Trying to pretend That I can see the end All I want to do is see... I don't know when this feeling started When the walls started closing in Don't want to be one of the broken hearted Just need to get my eyes open again What I've got to do is see... I'm going through changes Surrounding me Changes Breaking free Changes You've got to see this life It ain't no fantasy Connected without Connected within Don't need to know what it's all about Just need to groove on where I am What I've got to do is see... I'm going through changes Surrounding me Changes Breaking free Changes You've got to see this life It ain't no fantasy Changes Breaking free Changes Got to see Changes Surrounding me this life It ain't no fantasy It's life Words and Music copyright 2016 by Bill Cornish

No Place to Hide Eyes closed tight You can't see Head in the sand You can't breathe I know you're thinking You can hide from it all No use in slinking away Fist clenched tight You can't hear You think it's anger But it's fear No escape from it all What you're feeling inside It's your curtain call No place to hide Your heart is pounding And you're set to explode For all your expounding You can't crack the code Windows shut, doors locked No one's here Lights off, curtains closed Feel your fear Don't look in the mirror You won't like what you see It's getting clearer No place, no place to hide No place, no place to hide No place, no place to hide No place, no place to hide Words and Music copyright 2016 by Bill Cornish

Voices 07:40
Voices Voices calling Across the years No sense of falling Drifting away Time stands still Voices calling I stand alone Facing the darkness Facing unknown The past lies in shadows A warm cacophony I stand alone Voices calling Across the years No sense of falling Looking forward Bouyed by the past Voices calling And there's nothing I need And there's nothing to fear And there's nothing I need Drifting away Time stands still Voices calling And there's nothing I need And there's nothing to fear There's nothing I need No mistakes There's no reason to hate No reason to waste And there's nothing I need Words and Music copyright 2016 by Bill Cornish

Snake Oil 04:00
Snake Oil You smile your plastic smile and prattle to the masses Hoping that no one is listening too close Step up one and all - we're here to save your asses Twenty-first century shaman you're the host with the most Just sign the dotted line as if it made a difference Haven't needed your approval for quite some time But it's always good to have someone inside the crosshairs Someone to play the figurehead Someone to save the day Snake oil Makes my blood boil Makes me recoil You know you're going to pay Snake oil Makes me recoil Makes my blood boil You know you're going to pay You can't always see the figures hiding in the shadows But we've always been here and always will be Would you rather see the puppet or the puppeteer? Keep that self delusion Land of the free Snake oil Makes my blood boil Makes me recoil You know you're going to pay Snake oil Makes me recoil Makes my blood boil You know you're going to pay Words and Music copyright 2016 by Bill Cornish

Angry Man 06:17
Angry Man Angry man sitting alone in his room Typing furiously I found this picture It says what I think I feel Click Like if you agree Been here all night refreshing this page I'm slowly going out of my mind The things I see are cutting me deeply Much more of this and I'll go blind I'm sending you this video That you're not going to want to see Decapitations, conflagurations It's just my duty I think you'll agree I'm an angry man Trying to find a plan The walls are closing in Can't you see the shape I'm in? Angry man sitting alone Alone in his underwear I should be out I should be sleeping But I'm pissed off that you just don't care Moral decay is eating away at my soul All around me is apathy So many strangers so many points of view Overwhelmed got no empathy I'm sending you this video So that you'll understand our plight Persecution, insurrection Why do we not get to say what's right? I'm an angry man Trying to find a plan The walls are closing in Can't you see the shape I'm in? I just want things to be comfortable I just want everyone to see How much better life would be now If everyone was just like me I'm an angry man Trying to find a plan The walls are closing in Can't you see the shape I'm in? Gone Too Long Well you watch your evening news Branded packaged and approved Celebrity fashion, police action Riots in the streets, you know we've got the product for you Our little blue pill will give you a thrill Everybody's doing it you don't want to be left out That's what it's all about Is this reality? I've been gone too long Is this reality? I've been gone too long Life doesn't count if no one is watching Everybody hungers for their fifteen of fame It's going to take some time for this to go viral But I can't keep on waiting so I'll do it again They pass in the streets Heads down no eye contact to the people that they could meet It doesn't matter anyway Is this reality? I've been gone too long Is this reality? I've been gone too long Words and Music copyright 2016 by Bill Cornish

Mystery 07:20
Mystery All your yesterdays They all seem so far away And all those memories All you were going to be A shadow play Faded photographs And all those things that couldn't last And all you've left behind It's all inside your mind And now you're on the path Faces watch behind the glass To make sure that you obey But you just turn away You turn away Just close your eyes and feel Each moment of the day Only you can make it real Each second of the play And now you're on your own But you don't feel alone You know you've got to dream If you want to swim upstream You're not alone Inside your mystery You see the way the world should be It's for you to be the change Up to you to rearrange You know it's true somehow No illusions now You're on your own Words and Music copyright 2016 by Bill Cornish

about

Although he is known more for instrumental works these days, with Reason's Edge, the former keyboardist from Crystal and Giant Shadows revisits his rock roots. Lush harmonies, strong melodies and influences ranging from classic and progressive rock to jazz and R & B are all hallmarks of the songs here. Stir in lyrics with a bit of social commentary and some necessary sarcasm and you have the debut Reason's Edge album.
